Our client, a silver company trading on the Toronto Venture Exchange, is an advanced explorer-developer and owns several different exploration properties in Canada. They have identified the need for a Vice President, Exploration. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, the new Vice President, Exploration, will manage the geology department and resource evaluation for the Company’s exploration and development projects.

Based in Vancouver, the Vice President, Exploration, will provide technical leadership in the development of the Company’s exploration strategy and will establish technical standards for the Company. In addition, he/she will liaise with different stakeholders including government authorities and mentor a team of professionals. A degree in geology and (an advanced degree and/or a business related degree will be considered a asset) combined with a minimum of 15+ years experience in exploration, including managing at a high level with a successful discovery track-record will be critical for success. Significant experience in gold exploration and VMS deposits is required, including substantial practical exploration experience on exploration projects ranging from regional and immature greenfields to detailed resource definition programs.

The new Vice President, Exploration, will need to be able to assume the role of Qualified Person for projects as defined under National Instrument 43-101. This role requires a “Senior Exploration Executive” who brings “best in class” experiences and knowledge with the ability to transfer these to others.

This is a senior role for an experienced underground mining engineer offering significant challenges and career opportunities. The General Manager and the new Chief Engineer will have the key role in re-opening this complex underground gold operation. With a supportive community, a committed workforce, milling and surface operations in place, and no environmental issues, this mandate is all about mining.

Candidates will have at least fifteen years of experience in various underground mines and a proven track record. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of mine engineering and coordination of technical functions and underground development.

Our client is well financed, aggressively growing in Canada and South America. Capital for development work is in budgeted and committed. What is needed now is the right Chief Engineer to develop and bring this mine into production.

This role offers significant challenges and career opportunities for an experienced mining Controller at a complex mining operation in Canada. Our client is well financed and aggressively growing in Canada and South America.  Capital for development work is budgeted and has been committed. Reporting to the Mine General Manager and the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for all facets of operations, project accounting and reporting, budgets and financial controls. Candidates will need a minimum 2 years of public accounting experience and consolidation experience with complex mining operations and development projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a CMA designation.

Our client is committed to maintaining highest standards in Health, Safety, Environment and Community Relations.

One of the company’s largest underground operations requires an Assistant Chief Engineer. Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, the incumbent will lead the development of the strategic mine plan (2-20 years). As an integral member of the Technical Services team, the Assistant Chief Engineer will work collaboratively with the Engineering, Geology and Resources teams to develop the long term Life of Mine Plan, ensure optimized resources and reserves conversion and accurate reserves calculation.

The Assistant Chief Engineer performs in a team environment with minimal supervision and is required to combine advanced computer literacy with strong problem solving capabilities in driving successful long term mine design, planning, scheduling, financial evaluations and cost analysis.

Candidates will hold a relevant engineering degree combined with a minimum of ten years progressive experience in underground mining and mine planning. This position requires a self-motivated, results oriented, energetic individual who is a team worker, and has outstanding communication and problem solving skills. Prior supervisory experience required.

Our client is committed to maintaining highest standards in Health, Safety, Environment and Community Relations.

One of the company’s largest underground operations requires a Senior Rock mechanics Engineer. Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, the incumbent (Senior Engineer Ground Control) contributes to the development of mining plans and mine sequencing by taking a lead role in the management of stability and ground support requirements.

Working closely with Chief Engineer the Rock Mechanic will assess ground conditions and the results of abnormal micro seismic or seismic activity. The Rock Mechanic will perform with a minimal amount of supervision, will work in a team environment and will energetically drive the initiatives and projects in this challenging role.

Candidates will hold a relevant engineering degree combined with a minimum of ten years progressive experience in underground mining and mine planning. This position requires a self-motivated, results oriented, energetic individual who is a team worker, and has outstanding communication and problem solving skills. The candidate will need to coach, mentor and supervise young engineers and technicians within the rock mechanics team. Prior supervisory experience required.
