They have identified the need for a Vice President, Exploration. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, the new Vice President, Exploration, will manage the geology department and resource evaluation for the Company’s exploration and development projects.

Based in Vancouver, the Vice President, Exploration, will provide technical leadership in the development of the Company’s exploration strategy and will establish technical standards for the Company. In addition, he/she will liaise with different stakeholders including government authorities and mentor a team of professionals. A degree in geology and (an advanced degree and/or a business related degree will be considered a asset) combined with a minimum of 15+ years experience in exploration, including managing at a high level with a successful discovery track-record will be critical for success. Significant experience in gold exploration and VMS deposits is required, including substantial practical exploration experience on exploration projects ranging from regional and immature greenfields to detailed resource definition programs.

The new Vice President, Exploration, will need to be able to assume the role of Qualified Person for projects as defined under National Instrument 43-101. This role requires a “Senior Exploration Executive” who brings “best in class” experiences and knowledge with the ability to transfer these to others.

Our Client requires a Senior Mine Engineer to join its mine engineering team.  Working with the mine engineering team, the Senior Mine Engineer will be responsible for underground mine development planning, scheduling, and priority setting in order to achieve short and long-term mine objectives.  With safety as the core value, this role will focus on high quality results to achieve production targets.  The Senior Mine Engineer will provide technical support in the key areas of longhole drilling and blasting, ground control, ventilation, and mine water management.

This Mine operation, which is located in northern Saskatchewan, operates on a rotational schedule of seven days on, seven days off.  Employees commute to the operation by aircraft from either Saskatoon or Prince Albert.

 

This role requires an experienced Mine Engineer with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mine Engineering or a related field and a minimum of eight years of experience in progressive and supervisory mine engineering positions, or equivalent.  Candidates must be eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).

With three producing mines, our Client is a mineral resource company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development and mining of base metal and precious metal deposits in the Americas.   Our Client is currently in search of Chief Mining Engineer to lead a small team at a mine in southern Chile, approximately 1350 kilometres south of Santiago.  The property includes both zinc/gold and zinc/lead mines in addition to a corollary deposit. Processing is carried out through a 1,500 tonne per day concentrating plant.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Chief Mining Engineer will supervise and lead a small engineering department.  In addition to overseeing the development and maintenance of short and long term mine plans and designs, the Chief Mining Engineer will be responsible for analyzing and making recommendations on methods to improve mine operating performance, promote operating / capital cost reductions, and reduce waste and operational delays.  As a key member of the mine management team, additional responsibilities include reviewing production methods, developing and meeting appropriate budgets, monitoring performance and overseeing capital projects.

The ideal candidate will have a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering and a minimum of ten years of progressive experience with underground mining, engineering, and mine planning.  We are looking for a pro-active, results-focused professional who will drive the development of the strategic mine plan and ensure the optimization of resources.  Knowledge of backfill practices is essential, as is proficiency with budgeting and cost management/analyses, supervisory management experience, computer literacy (Gemcom, Audocad, and project planning software), and strong organizational and communication skills.  The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and at minimum, solidly capable in Spanish.
